This coaching initiative was put in place to support members of the management and academic community around their individual high performance, and indirectly contribute to a change in culture within the business school. It supported wider organisation development initiatives to ensure quality, alignment and cost effectiveness.
A small cohort of coaches, familiar with the organisation's culture, delivered the initiative. Year after year, we saw an increase in demand from the academic faculty to take part, which was a particularly pleasing outcome. Furthermore, level 3 evaluation of behaviour change indicated it was perceived as contributing positively to staff engagement, performance, and effectiveness.
I'm now in a senior management role in academia, having moved from a prestigious research environment after a PhD and postdoctoral training - a path that wasn't always straightforward as a young mother in the early days.
