Capita works in partnership with the British Army within the Recruiting Partnering Project (RPP) to attract, source and select officers and soldiers to join the service. It is tasked to deliver technology and digital improvements to the recruiting systems and processes, as well as continuing to provide the existing recruitment services. It operates in an increasingly difficult context with an international decline in recruitment numbers. The project team consists of a civilian senior leadership team that partners with equivalent military stakeholders within the Army Recruiting Group.
I’ve worked with the Capita RPP senior leadership team since 2021, helping them develop the attitudes and practice of operating as a high-performing team. Our work together focussed on developing increasingly powerful trust-based relationships, shaping a compelling common purpose to which all team members are committed, clarifying roles and responsibilities, agreeing an approach to problem-solving, and strengthening commitment to the shared leadership of the business.
The work is ongoing with a focus on building increasingly strong relationships with key army stakeholders to build a coherent Army Recruitment Group leadership team. And it's helping to sustain the wider team’s high-performance in a challenging, fast-moving and VUCA operational context.
When I took up post as CEO, British Army Recruiting Group, my Senior Leadership Team and I crystallised rapidly, an ambition to move up a gear and become a truly high-performing team.
